Introducing Trio Training at Mixx Fitness Studio
Specialty semi-private training with the guidance of an
expert Mixx personal trainer plus the energy and camaraderie of a class.

What is a Trio?
A Trio is a new way to train for your life. Taking the best of personal training and group fitness, Trios combine the elements of training science, motivation camaraderie and fun. Each session is led by an expert Mixx trainer with a maximum of three participants. Sessions feature a custom selection of high energy music and an infusion of powerful personal change tools to guide you in your physical and personal transformation.

What are the key features of training in a TRIO?

Who can sign up for a TRIO?
Anyone. Participants are required to complete a New Client Questionnaire and liability waiver prior to the first class. Anyone with specific injuries or medical conditions is requested to contact the Trio Trainer prior to the first class to discuss adaptations.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
Mixx’s general cancellation Policy does NOT apply to TRIOS.
 If you are unable to make a session, the session is forfeit. No refunds, no credits, no carry overs.

What if I am out of town?
Please plan your training schedule accordingly, missed sessions are forfeit.
The flexibility of private training may be more ideal if you travel frequently.

Can I schedule a TRIO at a time other than on the schedule?
Yes. If you have pre-arranged a group of three participants with similar schedules, we will do our best to arrange an instructor and set the Trio.

Can I design a custom Trio?
Yes, you may propose Trio ideas to us. We will do our best to create the Trio, depending on instructor availability and skill set.

What is the Cost?
$156.00 + GST (4 semi-private, 60 minute sessions)
$100.00 + GST (4 semi-private, 30 minute sessions)
This works out to $39 per session.
Trios sessions are held twice per week and run for 4 weeks
(8 sessions per month).

What if there are not enough people to run a Trio?
Classes run with 1 person (max 3 people). A second and third person may join the Trio at anytime. They will pay a pro-rated fee for joining after the first session.

NOTE: Trios run 4 weeks. New clients joining a TRIO after the first session may pay a pro-rated fee of $39 per remaining session.

Iron Princess
If you like the look of the models on the cover of fitness magazines like Oxygen, then this Trio is for you.  Iron Princess is for those looking to complement their current level of fitness with a significantly more sculpted and defined physique.
Emphasis will be on creating strong, toned muscles, teamwork and personal growth.
Note: This is a cardio-free workout; participants will be prescribed cardio workouts to be completed outside of their Trio workout.

Level: Advanced      Intensity: High              
Prerequisites: This is an advanced Trio that is not suitable for participants that are new to fitness. You must have been strength training for at least 6 weeks prior to joining this class.

Swimsuit Issues
Do you live for the beach? Want to look fabulous for bikini season? Yes, this is the vanity Trio. It is the reinvention of the classic “buns and abs” focus workout, but we take it to the next level by incorporating Mixx’s Posture analysis and correction expertise. After all, what’s the point of having a flat stomach and tight buns if you look like a hunchback? This Trio includes a complimentary posture screen and incorporates detailed fine tuning into your workouts to correct the unsightly effects of poor posture: rounded shoulders, protruding belly, excess curvature of the spine. This class does include a cardio/fat burning component but emphasis will be on hitting those troublespots and correcting posture. Pina Colada anyone?

Level: Moderate    Intensity: Moderate to high           
Prerequisites: This is an advanced Trio that is not suitable for participants that are new to fitness. You must have been strength training for at least 6 weeks prior to joining this class.

Fitness Formula 1
Are you brand new to fitness and not sure where to start?  Formula 1 is created for those who understand the benefits of leading a physically active lifestyle and are ready to take the next step. This trio introduces participants to the FIT FORMULA and guides participants in meeting the minimum requirements to see improvements in their cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility. This Trio also incorporates elements of balance, stability and core training and is a great starter class for those interested in taking more advanced Trios or Bootcamp classes down the road.

Level: Beginner      Intensity:  Low to moderate           
Prerequisites:  Complete a New Client Questionnaire
    

300 Calories
Is cardio a drag for you? Do you need to expend a bit more energy each week to meet your weightloss goals? This Trio was designed to help get you out of your rut and to just plain burn a tonne of calories. This ‘minimum skill required trio’ combines the best of the best fat burning cardio exercises into a fun, high energy, sweat fest. Class ends when you reach 300 calories! No one leaves the room until they have burned all 300 (according to personal heart rate monitors).

Level: Advanced      Intensity: High              
Prerequisites: Must own a heart rate monitor that tracks calories. Participants who purchase their HRM from Mixx at the time of registration save 20% off the regular HRM cost.

Muscle ‘n’ Flow
This Trio is designed for participants to enjoy the multitude of benefits of having strong functional muscles from strength training, yet  also enjoy the ‘flow style’ of yoga and Pilates classes. These sessions fluidly blend a classic full body strength routine and advanced therapeutic stretching into a gentle flowing sequence. Sessions begin with a light warmup and brief cardio session, and end with stretching and relaxation.

Level:
Beginner to moderate    Intensity: low to moderate
